Antigua Guatemala was the first place I fell in love with on this trip. This Central American colonial town has it all – incredible food, absorbing culture and jaw-dropping vistas – and over six months after my visit (where does the time go??) it’s still on my mind. I’m making it a personal mission to encourage as many people to go to Guatemala as possible; along with Peru, it’s my favourite country so far and an absolute joy to explore. Reasons to Fall in Love with Antigua Guatemala

Ahh, Antigua Guatemala. It seems crazy that I’ve been on this planet for almost 28 years and yet until a few weeks ago had no idea how utterly incredible Guatemala is. It honestly stunned me. Why don’t more people come here? It’s been popular with backpackers for years, but why it isn’t as common a holiday destination as nearby Costa Rica is beyond me, particularly when it’s vastly cheaper. Turns out, people are waking up to how sensational this country is.
